EXTENDED CHILD CARE (ECC)

Extended Child Care is committed to assisting each school-age child in obtaining life skills by providing quality year round learning programs, while supporting families and school districts.

ECC is a licensed child care provider supporting the intellectual, social-emotional and physical needs of children through a hands-on, child-centered approach. As educators we value the importance of learning through play. Our Cali center is an environment rich in creative opportunities, self-expression and spontaneous experiences. Our focus on children’s needs and interests cultivates enthusiasm, curiosity & imagination which contribute to a child's positive self-identity.

The CCLA Extended Child Care center is managed by a full time Center Director and an Assistant Center Director. All staff meets Community Care Licensing Title 22 requirements, have a current TB test and health screening, and pass a fingerprint clearance. Our staff is also certified in CPR and First Aid. All ECC staff at CCLA are bilingual.

ECC offers a developmentally appropriate curriculum. Children’s interests are regularly determined and form the basis of the day-to-day program. ECC classrooms include a library, computers, iPads, and a large variety of games, materials and equipment. Supervised homework time is provided daily.

Breakfast is served for children in the program before school and snack is served after school. On a full day breakfast, lunch and snack are served. ECC participates in the Child and Adult Care Food Program, funded by State and Federal governments. ECC is an equal opportunity provider.

Parents are always welcome to visit the center and are an important component to our program. Parents have opportunities to be involved by sharing skills and knowledge in the center or being involved in the Parent Advisory Committee and the Board of Directors.

The CCLA ECC Center is open daily before school at 7:00 and immediately after school until 6:00pm. We are also open during intersession days and during the summer from 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
