NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

As a condition of compliance with Education Code Section 60119 and California Code of Regulations, Title 5, Section 9531c, local governing boards are required to hold an annual public hearing and adopt a resolution stating whether each pupil in the district has, or will have prior to the end of that year, sufficient textbooks or instructional materials in each subject consistent with the content and cycles of the curriculum framework adopted by the State Board of Education consistent with the compliance regulations of the Williams Settlement.

Therefore, a public hearing regarding instructional materials sufficiency, for the 2020-2021 school year, will be held on September 15, 2020 at the regularly scheduled Board of Trustees meeting of the Windsor Unified School District. The school board meeting will begin at 6:00 pm.

This meeting will be held via Zoom and streamed live to Facebook.

On March 17, 2020, the Governor issued Executive Order N-29-20, suspending certain provisions of the Ralph M. Brown Act, in order to allow for local legislative bodies to conduct their meetings telephonically or by other electronic means. Pursuant to the Shelter-in-Place Order issued by the Sonoma County Health Officer on March 17th, 2020, the statewide Shelter-in-Place Order issued by the Governor in Executive Order N-33-20 on March 19th, 2020, and the CDC's social distancing guidelines which discourage large public gatherings, this Board Meeting will be held as a Zoom meeting. Comments will only be taken during Public Comment, if you wish to make a comment during Public Comment, please email Jenny Cox at jcox@wusd.org, the subject line should read, Public Comment for The Board Meeting, September 15th, 2020. The length of the emailed comment should be three minutes which is customarily allowed for verbal comments which is approximately 400 words. If your emailed comment is received by 4:00pm on September 15th, 2020, it will be provided to the Trustees, and made publicly available under Public Comment. Every effort will be made to read emails received after that time, but the District cannot guarantee such emails will be read during the meeting, although they will still be included in the administrative record. Individuals who require special assistance or a disability-related modification or accommodation to participate in this meeting, or who have a disability and wish to request an alternative format for the agenda, meeting notice, agenda packet or other writings that may be distributed at the meeting, should contact Jenny Cox by 12:00pm on September 15th, 2020, at jcox@wusd.org. Notification before the meeting will enable the District to make reasonable arrangements to ensure accessibility to this meeting, the materials related to it, and your ability to comment. The District will use sound discretion and make reasonable efforts to adhere as closely as reasonably possible to the provisions of the Brown Act, and other applicable local laws regulating the conduct of public meetings, in order to maximize transparency and provide the public access to their meetings.
